My own car, the first UK customer S2 Sport 190 to be built (chassis #002), was delivered on the morning of Friday 19th April 2002. Needless to say I have been sporting a stupid grin ever since!

You can find the full specification of the S2 Sport 190 here but my car differs slightly. To satisfy my desired budget and intended use, I have chosen to delete some parts and add others from the many options Lotus Sport and Performance have available. Here's how it differs from the published spec.

Things I've deleted:
MSA approved A-frame roll bar Since I want to use this car on the road as well as on the track, I opted to delete the A-Frame roll bar that sits behind the seats. This means I can have the 2 speaker radio kit fitted to make long journeys a little more bearable. In it's place is a horizontal bar that the harnesses attach to, so there was no cost saving here. The standard car's rollover protection is proven so I'm not overly concerned about losing this (plus it saves a bit of weight).
Plumbed in fire extinguisher system
Master battery cut-out switch
Removing the fire extinguisher and battery cut-out saved just short of £400. The cut-out would have had to come out anyway because it precluded the alarm/immobilser functioning correctly. I will fit my own hand-held extinguisher after delivery for added peace of mind.
Passenger race seat The standard Elise seats are very good for lateral support anyway, and it adds a little more practicality when ferrying people around. It also saved another £300. It'll be a standard black cloth seat, so I've opted to have the drivers racing seat in all black to match (could have had blue/yellow/red inserts).
Things I've added:
Category 1 alarm/immobiliser Required for peace of mind and insurance purposes, added £295 to the cost.
2 speaker radio kit I will probably be doing some long journeys in this car to various track days and to visit my parents in southern France so a few tunes, however inaudible over the noise, won't go amiss - cd head unit was thrown in as part of the deal (I drive a hard bargain!).
Quaife automatic torque biasing differential Driving the development car at the Lotus test track I was getting the inside wheel spinning coming out of the tight 2nd gear corners, Chris Dinnage reckoned the Quaife automatic torque biasing differential would do wonders for that and was a very worthwhile option.
Door panels in Alcantara I've specified these in blue so it helps break up the black interior/exterior a bit.
Dynamic Suspension dampers & Eibach springs These are two way adjustable hand-built and matched individually dyno tested dampers, which ensures they're all exactly the same rate, with matching Eibach springs. The spring rates are 450 lbs/inch at the front and 500 lbs/inch at the rear.
OZ Motorsport rims & standard Lotus rims The published spec includes motorsport rims that are an inch wider than standard at the front to accommodate the Yokohama A048 tyres. I'm having two sets of wheels, a standard silver set with the usual Bridgestone Potenza tyres, and a set of Lotus Motorsport branded black OZ rims wearing the A049 tyres. It should save me a fortune in wearing out track tyres on the road!
